Our Profile





Friends of Lake Nakuru Singers (African Singers) is a full time music performing group based in Nakuru, Kenya.

Composed of 10 talented singers and instrumentalists including;

The group performs live a cappella music including Kenyan Ethnic Folk and Adaptations, Special Theme Compositions especially on environmental conservation awareness , African Diaspora Spirituals and Choral Compositions.

 With our gender balance and spread ethnic inclinations of members, we promote great cultural diversity of our country; Kenya

With our unique diverse artistic riches, we entertain in tourists hotels and lodges, international concerts and festivals, private and public celebrations including weddings, fund drives, products promotion & roadshows, birthday parties, engagements and  related parties.

Among the most memorable past performances include : -










  • 2002 - Switzerland - Charity performance for Rhein - Valley Hospital, Kasambara, Kenya.
  • 2003 - Mexico - Cultural exchange festivals in 21 Mexican cities

Friends of lake Nakuru, Since formation in 1995 has gone into affiliation with many community partners including Nakuru Players Theatre, White Ribon Alliance for safe delivery (WRA), and Permanent Presidential Music Commission.

From many years of performance contracts with,  we have created partnership of interest with companies and social groupings including; Lake Nakuru Lodges, The Kenya Tourism Board, Egerton University, Kenya Wildlife Services, WWF, Flamingo Tented camp amongst many others.

These nature lovers spear headed a pilot program- 'OKOA ZIWA NAKURU' aimed at re-planting in-lets to the Lake Nakuru on attempt to stop danger of loosing the lake. On 20th may, 2010, the singers organized a very successful planting festival helping plant and maintain over 10,000 seedlings at Ngongongeri area in Njoro. We are launching a special tree planting event ' GREEN GUM-BOOT FESTIVAL' running from 1st January, 2018 to 31st Jully, 2018 involving community, Tourists and environmental consevationists in re-planting old trees in Lake Nakuru environs. Be a friend of Lake Nakuru for having saved haven of birds in Africa.
